Here’s How To Get Through All The Stressors That Make Up The Holidays

The Holiday season starts around Thanksgiving time, when you may begin to notice all the Halloween themed items in grocery stores and storefront windows gradually (or not so gradually) evolve into Christmas themed items. Once Thanksgiving ends, you can observe an increase in holiday gift shoppers, Christmas music in stores, and winter holiday themed everything. Holiday gift shopping can be stressful, whether you are a parent, friend, or relative. Stress is normal, but keep in mind that while it is nice to buy gifts for your friends and family, the holiday season is also an important time to treat yourself. Along with all the stress and running around trying to find specific gifts for specific people, take a break and take care of yourself along the way. Below are a few things you can do to help you get through this stressful holiday season, from relaxing you time to beauty treatments that will make you feel incredible, especially in those dreaded holiday photos.

You time

This may sound like the most basic possible thing you can do to relax, but sometimes going back to the basics is all you really need. Take a bubble back, read a good book, have a glass of wine, watch a movie – it doesn’t matter what you do, as long as it’s something that is relaxing to you. Do you have a hobby that you haven’t gotten around to in a while? Get on it. Don’t let the build up stressors of this season turn you into a grinch. You need time to relax, so take it!

Organize your time

Holiday gift shopping can be incredibly stressful, especially if you’re running around all kinds of stores, all of which are located in different areas, just to find one specific thing. Yes, Amazon is always an option, but sometimes you need to go to the store to see the quality of whatever item you are planning on purchasing for yourself. To make it easier, organize your time, and make a list of all the things that you need. If you plan on going to a store to just wing it, and buy whatever you find once you’re there, take a step back, and write a list. Who do you need to get a gift? What would you like to get them? Do you have a budget?

Plan ahead and figure out exactly what you want to get everyone. This way it will be easier to pinpoint where to go and will also give you a better overview of how much money you will be spending.

Treat yourself

In order to really enjoy the holidays, you should treat yourself along the way. This can include anything from getting your nails or hair done, or even getting a little cosmetic treatment to freshen up for holiday events. Some of the most popular treatments that people get in the winter time include Botox, Lip Filler, a number of microneedling treatments, and laser treatments. Laser treatments such as Fraxel are particularly popular in the winter months, because with it, you should be avoiding the sun for about a month altogether. It is much easier to do that when it’s cold and there are no beach days planned any time soon.

The most important takeaway here is that keeping your stress levels to a minimum during the holiday season isn’t really that hard. It mainly just requires time management, and maybe a few *treat myself* days to help ease the nerves when something doesn’t quite go as planned. In addition, don’t be afraid to get some beauty touch ups. We all deserve to feel and look our best, especially during the holidays!
